Just ordered this one. Simon is such a great writer on British jazz that I go for pretty well everything he has written. Only 300 copies printed apparently and it comes with 2CDs of largely unreleased music.
Pre-order for late September release.

Yes - very good indeed. Clark has written with empathy and objectivity and he has covered all the bases.
The Simon Spillett book apparently sold out within 24 hours. They did warn in their email that it was likely to sell out fast but this must have exceeded expectations.
Updated to add that Jazz In Britain have just confirmed that they will be doing an additional 200 copies in October.

I heard Simon play a couple of times. I am sure Tubs would have been amazed. A great communicator of his passion.
I’ve seen most of his groups - Quartet, Couriers Revisited (with Pete Long) and his fabulous Big Band. Looking forward to seeing the Big Band playing Tubby Hayes in October - as good a tribute as you can get !

I’ve always liked Arthur Blythe, especially Down San Diego Way on the Lenox Avenue Breakdown lp, and this one is pretty good too.
I have all of these yellow Zephyrs but this is a particular favourite.
The sharp tongued Reuben (Mr Hyde& Mr Hyde according to those who knew him) with the best of British and American mainstream.
Gentle,as he insisted conversational level,melodic and nicely recorded.

This is a wonderful album; you can feel the fun the artists have on stage
The last few weeks listening on my existing system; decided that after year, I am replacing my system. Bought a Jadis Tube amp and a Lumin streamer. Auditioned both with lots of my favorite jazz albums and very impressed. It will all be here in October

I bought a Jadis I70 with a Lumin T3X …… don’t worry, I still keep the my Muso’s
