I’m at a dilemma point and hoping someone has experience moving from SNAXO to the Kudos Siago crossover ?
I’m currently powering my Titan 505’s with a HiCap DR’d SNAXO242 and a pair of 500’s non DR (pre amp is 552DR).
I’m asking as it’s proving tough to find a used Supercap DR so thinking about trading in for a Siago which would work out more expensive, but would pave the way to upgrade to 707, or 808, but and extra 500 causes issues with rack space…

For a snaxo a supercap is needed or the Hicap which he already has.

Tom Tom Audio have a Supercap DR. You’d also need the Burndy lead of course.

I would go for a Supercap for the Snaxo,the Kudos Siago is just a passive crossover.
Passive or active crossover, I would want to know which sounds best on the Kudos Titan range with Naim power amps.
Kudos Sigao might be a passive crossover (I don’t know its circuitry), but it allows active drive of the speakers, which is what counts with each driver connected to its power amp with no crossover in between. How it compares with powered active crossovers is quite another question - I’m not aware of any comparative reviews.

There is a reason that Naim Preamps are active and not passive…
I presume you are referencing the difference between a passive “preamp” (which despite its name is not an amp at all but an attenuator) and a preamp. I understand that may be a matter of buffering and possibly providing high enough input impedance to not present a load that affects the source, and suitable output impedance and source current capability to drive and not adversely affect the power amp. Whether that is a reasonable comparison to a crossover inserted between preamp and power amp is another matter is questionable, given that the source in the crossover situation is very different from the output of a CD player or other non-variable output digital source, for which passive preamps were found wanting. I assume any adverse effect or not of the XO would depend fundamentally on the output characteristics/ability of the preamp: I have no idea of electronic design of Sigao: It might simply be an LC(R) XO designed for the input impedance of typical power amps and the relatively small maximum voltages involved, but whatever it is. the question is whether it might present too low an impedance to the preamp or in some other way present an unsuitable load on the preamp and so affect preamp performance, or alternatively be an unsuitable source for the power amp.
i believe there are reviews that have found it a very effective device - are there any that found it wanting? And, more particularly, has anyone compared with a powered active XO?
I am sure it works very well with the kudos range and its what i would pick if going active.
I would much rather have no power supply adding unwanted noise to the signal because it will be.
The Saigo Drive was designed by Kudos in collaboration with Roy George. That would lead me to believe it will have a very symbiotic relationship with Naim amps. The sceptic in me would like to believe that designing the SNAXO as an active x-over would also mean the sale of a power supply to go with it. A shrewd move if you also make the amps. A smart move by Kudos keeping is passive.
