I’ve just acquired one of these and I’m hoping it will future proof my NDS for a very long time to come.
I have a Sonore UPnP bridge which sounds great but I’ve had a few issues with it ie always needing laptop on, Radio Paradise didn’t work, and I had to pay for an Audirvana subscription. So I gave up on it and went back to Naim native.
I have owned one since new, got it when it first came out, and I love the little thing. Just sounds great and always seems to work, never a blip or bobble with it, and just simple. And as far as how to get the best from it, just listen to it and not worry over things! I know… I have heard others have gotten a bit more mileage/improved sound quality playing with the outboard power supplies, going with linear etc. I have yet to be bothered. Enjoy!
Yes, it is pretty much plug and play. Sometimes on initial setup to your network it can be a little slow/stubborn, but once there and connected, mine has been rock solid.
I control mine with either iPad or iPhone using Lindemann app. Works fine. With that said, I am probably one of the most simplistic users, I rarely make playlists, I am the typical whole-album listener type using Qobuz, or stream various radio stations such as Radio Paradise and such quite often. I don’t get too uptight over apps, if it plays music no fuss, I am good to go.
No issues at all at my end. Very good product IMO. I use Roon but it supports Tidal Connect/max, Spotify connect, their own free app is also very good in which you connect Tidal, Qobuz and such. I use mine with digital coax to my NDS. I have Bridge II without the inbuilt DAC. Network version also have included DAC. Don’t pick that one if using it with your NDS.
There are two versions of it. One is a streamer/bridge only (Bridge II) and one also contains a DAC (Network II). The streamer doesn’t have RCA out on the back. I use Bridge II since I’m using my NDS as a DAC. The Network version could be an alternative for those not having a DAC. I also added Sbooster power supply to mine.
You need Bridge II and a digital coax cable RCA to RCA or RCA to BNC. Turn on Digital input for the connection you use on the NDS and then your good to go
Oh well. I paid £180 for it in sealed box so a good deal. Will probs just sell it on.
I don’t think I can use it to upgrade the Bluesound on my second system either as I don’t think I can bypass the preamp and I don’t want to make my NAC42 redundant.
