Network is a super tiny NDS. You need an intergrated or pre amp.
Into active speakers I’m not sure. It has digital volume control but how good it is doing it is unknown to me

Ah right I thought it also had a pre. Might supersede my node then.
I’ll compare and report back
It will front a 42/110/SCM11
Okay so just switched the Bluesound Node2 for the Lindemann Network II. Feeding a Naim NAC42/NAP110 with ATC SCM11 speakers.
Interesting!
Forgot the HiCap!
Apologies for the cat toys
Good use of IKEA Kalkax.
Not familiar with this range of the Naim kit, never seen Red lights before, what models are they?
DG…
42/110/Hicap
Not sure if the Red or Green came first. I think these are earlier models.
First impression?
Always wary of first impressions! But…
More detail and finesse
Wider and deeper soundstage
Bags of PRAT
Leaner bass
But I’ve just seen a volume control on the app so it seems there’s a pre in there which I can’t find a way to bypass
Bypassing the pre via the app on my Bluesound made a big difference
It’s digital volume. Like NDX2. Often you can chose “fixed” volume if you don’t use digital volume. Not sure if one can on Network.
Ah okay. Sorry I find streaming tech a bit of a dark art.
Anyway I think the Bluesound Node will be looking for a new home. The Lindemann is a considerably more expansive sound. And very Naim like ie much closer to the NDS
I will put the Node back on duty in a week or so just to confirm.
Haven’t heard Network but my Bridge and NDS has great naim synergy IMO Sounds like Network is doing the same trick then
The PRAT may well be the 42/110, showing what it can do with a better source
Just for the record, I use the SonoreUPnP Bridge with my NDS in a Roon environment. No addition computers required for playback.
All content is available via Roon, so all Tidal, Qobuz and Internet Radio, using the Roon Server (a NUC running ROCK) to marshall the internet sources to the NDS, which sees a local Ethernet input with a UPnP stream, as if streaming from local content & a UPnP server (as it was designed and optimised for). No buffer issues, once correctly configured.
All driven through the Roon Remote app on iPad(s) & iPhone etc. and if/when required the library is administered on a PC/Mac with desktop screen.
Loving everything but the bass. It’s very lean. Maybe it’s a set up issue
Just compared a few tunes. Bluesound Node2 v Lindemann Network2.
Lindemann is different league.
Which speaker cables for your ATC?
I’m guessing here but maybe Limetree is more correct in the bass and Bluesound was a bit coloured.
Witch Hat N2 speaker cable.
I switched back to the Node for a few tracks and the Lindemann was superior in every way. Will do more comparisons today.
I think I might be being harsh on the bass and was inadvertently comparing it to my main system rather than the Node.
Great to hear! Now get the Lindemann Bridge II and a good RCA-BNC coax and enjoy on your NDS It will not only add all support but also improve overall performance on the NDS
