Linn index speakers

Hi all

Hope everyone is well. on my travels out and about I managed to bag a pair of Linn Index speaker with Kustone stands for less than £50 they are in great condition. I have them connected to the mission Cyrus 1 and Rega two at present they sound really good . just wandering if anyone has ever paired them with Naim amplification Any thoughts out there.

regards
Anthony

They are the better of the Linn budget range but still punch well above their weight.
I preferred the MK 1 with Kef drivers.
I’d much rather have them than more recent alternatives.
Just enjoy them. :+1:t2:
Great with any Naits etc.

I had them back in the 90s and they were pretty good from what I remember. Sealed box bangers on decent stands. I used them with a Linn Intek (head in hands, woefully bad) and then a 62/140 and they played well together. They look rather nice too…

Agree on the original MK1, had them years ago on a Nait2 first, and then a NAC72/Hicap/NAP140. Was pretty decent and I enjoyed them. I heard the later versions but do not remember them much to be honest. Fun speaker, especially if you can find an older pair in good shape, good sound for hardly any money.

My memory too, the later ones along with Nexus wasn’t that good IME.
Never mind, that price was a bargain.
Sure they’d sound good on Naim amps, but a fresh Cyrus 1/P2 represent a fine cheapskate setup.
Maybe add the new line of Nd cartridges from Rega to the deck, they seem to be pretty good.

This is not my main system a mere experiment.

Are they MK1s or MKIIs

My father bought Linn Index’s (mk1)to go with Rega Planar 3 RB300 can’t remember cartridge and Creek CS4040, Nackamichi BX300

Fabulous sound.

I tried them with my LP12, Ittok, K9, Naim 62 / 90 (CB) never felt that overall sounded as good as my dad’s felt a little ‘muddy’. Preferred my MS20’s

Not starting argument Front end first v equal cost

They are mk2 with keystone stands

Pull up to the bumper was always a great demo track back in the day.
Good groove. :+1:t2:
