I’m looking to change the psu in January to Radikal (standard case) then work my way through the deck over the next year or so until I’m at Klimax spec.
You have to expect a lot with radikal psu. Once heard its a no brainer (if you are have no problem with the prixe tag)
But do yourself a favour and get a demo of the machined radikal. We all know its the same board in there.
When I heard it …-> it took a long time before I could do the upgrade.
Its cheaper to do it right in the first time, just a guess.
Maybe you are lucky and it is not better to your ears…
That is good advice, Iv not heard either but the deal on the akurate cased one and trade in on my lingo 4 is spot on for me, they do have a silver one in the nice casework but at a cost
The lingo to Radikal 1 or 2 upgrade is huge. You’ll be very pleased with the results. Stay with the standard mains cord on the radikal and plug it into
a mains outlet other than the Naim kit.
I don’t have the budget unfortunatley mate, im buying a ex demo psu with a trade in on my lingo 4 for £2800, this I think is a good deal and the right money for me.
I know during the summer they do buy an upgrade and get one half price so my thinking for that was to do sub chassis and tonarm
I would hold off until you can get right colour as well. Your tonearm should be great. You got the Arko.
I don’t think my Ekos SE/1 is miles better than Ekos 2 I had before. Radikal Klimax 2 if you can get it. Then just leave it this year if it blows the budget.
I am noone to talk but you’re LP12 should sound superb as it is.
I did Ekos 2, Trampolin 2 and Dynavector XX2MK11 and it sounded very sweet. Yes full Klimax is better and is sum of all the parts. At cost though!
It should be a simple A/B demo as and when appropriate, there should be a very noticeable difference (improvement in the sound quality) and it’s just the difference in the casework that gives this! Plus just ensure you are offered a sensible PX on your existing Radikal 1 or Radikal 2 when you do consider making the move whenever that is, that way you minimise the cost to change of course. Make changes one by one, and that way you will appreciate the improvements individually and more. IMHO.
