I do use it with my Rega P8 with Ania cart, it was clearly a step up from the Rega Fono MC which I was previously using.
Very impressive!

One thing or rather two things I’m enjoying about my new setup besides the music which I know is 3 things are the lack of cables and the absence of transformer hum.

Hi @DiggyGun
Some potentially silly questions but I’m a little curious.
Looks like you have 4 power leads coming into the unit but only 3 items requiring power. It may be that one of your TP-Link devices has its supply cable split into two individual wires as it comes into the unit and then they rejoin?
Also looks like you have two digital input streams feeding the GS105 on the right. Is this a correct assumption, are you feeding another stream to the TP-Link prior to sending to the DSM before playback (TV perhaps?).
Must confess my cable management is nowhere near as tidy as that so well done.
No silly questions.
There are only three power cables, two to the media converters and one to the switch. (It does look four, but don’t know why).
There is one feed into the switch, (right hand cable). The middle cable goes to the Apple TV box and the left hand cable is the one that goes to the first media converter.
Looking to get a pair of iFI iPower2 SMPS for the media converters, like the one to the switch. Plus looking to install some trunking for the power cables, just to tidy it up further.

Many thanks for that - much clearer now.
Not sure if you remember the old thread about “rats nests” behind units - whilst I may not have been the worst offender I most definitely was not the tidiest. One of the advantages of the Linn approach for me was the reduction in cables - I might just have to see what other tweaks I can do…
I know, that’s one of the things I liked too.
Also, the lack of hum from the transformers in the two NAP 250 Amps

The iFI iPower2 SMPS power supplies arrived and have been installed to feed the two TP-Link MC100CM Media Converters. I must admit that the quality of the iFI SMPS power supplies is very nice, the surface finish and the braiding being particularly good. The packaging is also up there with some of the top mobile phones and using five of them now to replace stock SMPS power supplies. Can’t categorically state that there is a night and day difference, but for me, the system does sound very good, playing Jazz. Plus they look and feel nicer than the stock SMPS power supplies, even though most of them are hidden.
Have also changed the Multimode Duplex SC - SC Fibre Patch Lead, it was initially an OM2 spec with Orange sheathing, the new one is an OM1 spec with Grey sheathing.
Not being that familiar with fibre patch lead specs, I’m told that “OM1 has a core size of 62.5 um and is capable of distances up to 300 metres while OM2 has a core size of 50um and can travel up to 600 metres. However OM1 is commonly used for 100Mbps applications whilst OM2 is generally used for 1000Mbps applications”. Given that the Media Converter is 100Mbs and the cable length is only one metre, I’m assuming that the OM1 spec will be fine.
Also took the opportunity to put some trunking in to totally tidy up the power cables, trying to keep the power and data cables separate.

Hello everyone, can anybody help trying to use the linn app it Won’t work can’t log into my tidal Account
I can’t use the server on it as well
The link below will take you to the relevant part of Linn documentation. Hopefully it helps you resolve the matter.
https://docs.linn.co.uk/wiki/index.php/Tidal
Kind regards
Which server - can you give a bit more detail as to what exactly you are trying to accomplish.
My nas The hold linn doesn’t work at all is you’re working, mate
Could you supply a few more details, please?
Eg: what streamer are you using? Is it new to you? If not has the app worked before? Can the Linn app see your streamer?
I’ve not had problems myself with the Linn app which I’ve used for some time (and Kazoo before that) but happy to offer suggestions.
Roger
