Blinker and Moses’s Feeding the machine, is one of my preferred albums out of London. I will take a listen to your choice.

I downloaded this album, as I love the Tuba in jazz. A very enjoyable album.

Camilla George - The People Could Fly is on the list to buy too. But that can wait until I have digested the current crop of albums.

Birmingham not London. Interesting and unusual Monk tribute.

Alfa Mist and Richie Spaven release their debut LP as 44th Move 5 years after their excellent debut ep.

Here is a taster of them together from 2020

Interesting video, thanks for posting.

As so-called “Audiophiles”, we go to the nth degree to get our music sounding as original as possible, unswitched electrical sockets, few connections, et al.

Yet when you see this video, which is typically live, there are a bank of flashing LEDs to the right of the organist, a number of LEDs and filters on the organ itself, numerous cables and connections. Then who knows what’s going on in the mixing booth.

Makes you wonder if it’s all worth it in the end.

Back in the day I photographed a lot of Jazz concerts. I often stood behind the mixing desk, and thre was always a sea of cabling. My bookshelf speakers at home probably sound better than most speaker banks at concerts.

I have always wondered too about the logic of buying high end gear to listen to amplified instruments.

I even wonder about the quality of the gear used to record analogue music, such as classical.

Has anybody been to see Liz Fletcher from London . We stayed in her Airbnb in Walthamstow a while ago.
I’m not a jazz fan but likes some of her music.

Saw Liz sing a few years ago at the Swanage Festival - with a trio. She was very good.
