London Grammar - The Greatest Love

Just noticed this new release popup on Qobuz so listening to it while at work.
Enjoying it so far, not as good as the first album, but that was pretty epic IMHO.
Even though Qobuz is saying its hires 24bit 44.1khz a couple of tracks didnt sound that great production wise.
I will need to listen to it properly at home to fully appraise the recording, but its good enough for me to buy it, do i choose CD or vinyl?!?!?

Whats other peoples thoughts on the album???

Not heard it yet but now you’ve brought it to my attention I certainly will give it a listen, thank you.

I like it, but like the previous 3 albums for me I need to listen to them a good few times to really get into them. First few listens tend to pass me by …

Just one listen to both sides of the lp. Cant say any tracks stood out. I need to listen more.

Put in the Qobuz ‘cart’ last night, but I’m not sure.

The first 2 albums were probably the best, California Soil was ‘nice’ but not that inspiring - suspecting the same for this.

I’ll buy any old sh1te if it’s on coloured vinyl.

I don’t really like coloured vinyl and find it distracting.

Love my BeeGees picture disc though

Picture disks. Horid things, best stuck on the wall rather than to play. But i do love coloured vinyl.

I only have the first two albums. Happy to let Qobuz keep the others for me.

I’ve only got two picture discs I think and the BeeGees one was a bargain with ‘added cheese’ so worth a punt.

I had a first listen earlier today - really quite good. I will certainly play again!!

I pre ordered this a while ago and the LP arrived today. It is a really nice sounding bit of vinyl and what’s pressed on it sounds pretty good too.

I pre ordered it twice. Numpty ! Daughter will benefit from the 2nd copy.

It sounds very good on the main system, lots of layers and nuances I don’t hear in the study.

However….it just seems too nice and dare I say polite for the most part.

The yellow vinyl is definately errr, yellow.

First listen via Tidal yesterday evening. LG seem to be trying a bit more variety than previously, which is good. I like the couple of new ones from their Glastonbury 2024 set. Some decent bass on a few tracks. Glorious vocals, naturally. A few songs seemed to end the same way, but I may be mis-remembering. I am keen to give it another listen.

Their first two albums were just outstanding. California Soil had its moments. Shame to hear the production quality/sonics may be lacking. I’ll have to have a listen regardless as I’ve been enjoying their albums.

I bought a 1000 press limited picture disc. The sound quality is ok on side 1 but side 2 has a constant background tone that is noticeable between tracks. Not hugely impressive. The first album was a stand out. I can’t see this being a regular listen even though California Soil did grow on me after a few repeat sessions as background listening.
