Current setup is passive S1/500 for warm up. The stack with the two more 500s/snaxo in the middle is just decoration at the moment. For active I am thinking of placing the whole power amps/pses and sc/snaxo on two fraim stacks in the middle between the speakers. That way I could reduce the current length of the required speaker cables 7+m to 3+m if I ever think about going chord. But then it would require a rather long 4/4pin connection between the S1 and the SC for the snaxo of about 3+ meters running behind the right speaker. Any thoughts ?
Maybe it’s time to go passive with the Statement power amps. It would be so much easier. I certainly wouldn’t run long Snaics, but if in doubt, speak directly to Naim.
Not so enticing I am afraid
Unbalanced cables can be made up that length by Naim but unlike balanced cables, they aren’t aren’t with active noise rejection. Setups with power amps near the speakers really need balanced connections.
If it was a lesser setup, I’d go with the long interconnects (BTW they aren’t SNAICS, that’s different). But with a Statement it seems like needlessly hobbling performance.
Charlie I would definitely think twice about running a long SNAIC - I remember asking Roy on behalf of a customer and him telling me that performance is audibly diminished beyond around 2m or so and then you can also run into instability issues, which can manifest in all kinds of nasty ways (noise, interference, poor performance). Also, I would definitely try to keep the stacks away from between the DBLs.
Thanks Richard,
That makes it very clear. I just came up with this idea as it would allow me to substantially reduce the length of the required speaker cables x3. I actually myself was hesitant with both, the then required length of the 4/4pin and the disadvantage of the three amps including psses and snaxo in between.

How about Linn K60 triwire speaker cable?
7 meters runs of Naca 5 sounds much better than 3 meters.
Agree with Richard, don’t put the gear between the speakers.
Active DBL´s is the way to go,in my opinion.
Good to see those DBL´s up and running
Actually no I haven’t, didn’t even know there are such triwiring cables available
Linn had K20 which was identical to A4. Then biwire cable K400 and triwire K600 which had the same stranded cores as K20 but encased in the most incredibly thick rubber webbing known to man (it was silly, the K600 was like 6cm thick!).
The K60 is their much more elegant replacement to the K600. Round and easier to work with.
