Hi @Analogmusic , thanks for taking the time to inform me about the filter options in Chord products. As I don’t own one I didn’t know - so thanks for that.
However I do need to correct a misunderstanding before it gets embedded in the forum. Linn Space optimisation is addressing an entirely different (and arguably much more important) audio problem. Space Optimisation is linearising the phase response of your speakers in your room below about 80Hz. It needs to ‘know’ your room to do this.
I think it is better if this debate (re digital filters) is carried over to a different thread. I have one here already…….

If you need to check any experience or expertise I might have on the topic, I could introduce you to a dual 4096 tap digital filter in a pre FPGA technology that I designed around 1987 for a instrument that needed a 140dB spurious free dynamic range.
