I would totally recommend the sourcing of a Headline….paired with a HC.
Bought mine a few years ago after auditioning headlamps from Sennheiser, Beyerdynamic, and a few other and totally preferred the Naim stuff…
I use them with my HD 820 and Beyer T5 3……
It appears that I have the same incompatibility issue.
Also the Chord cable was wired up wrong.
The dealer has taken the Trilogy back and lent me a Benchmark in the meantime.

I had this with a cable I had ordered. Label and packaging stated is was output. But it was in fact a standard input cable.
The manufacturer just sent the correct cable and I sent the incorrect cable back.
It would be worth checking the orientation of the cable.

I picked up a mint Headline with a NAPSC a couple of years ago from a well known auction site.
They do come up now and again, so it is worth watching out for one.

This seems to be a common issue. Either people just ‘guess’ that any DIN to Phono cable will ‘work’ - which is absolutely not the case (unless its a DIN to 4 Phono, which will always work - if you select the correct pair of Phonos). Or the cable is plan wrong, as on this occasion.
