Lost my mind

Hi all

I’ve lost my piece of paper with the connection list

I can’t make head nor tail of the diagram and can’t remember how to connect my 32.5/hicap/250

Can someone please help with an idiot guide to wire it all up please

I also have mixed all the snaics up

Also would I be better putting the power line on the hicap and power line lite on the 250

Thanks

Stressed

Snaic 5 (5 pins at each end) between 32.5 and Hicap socket 4. Band at 32.5 end.

4 pin Din to XLR between Hicap (socket 3) and 250.

Possibly. Try it both ways and see which sounds best to you. These things can sometimes be counter intuitive.

Do am I right with my little stickers?

Also it’s 5 pin 270 ?

I’ve got 2 5pin leads?

Regarding the cable photos, the bottom one is the SNAIC 5 needed to connect the Hi-Cap to the 32.5 with the band at the 32.5 end as HH says. The top cable is an interconnect to connect a source to the 32.5.

Regarding the connection to 250 I would move the blue dot 1 socket left (i.e. use socket 1 or 2). Socket 3 is intended to power NAXOs or pre-amps that only have single rail power (e.g. NAC 32). So usually socket 3 OR socket 4 is used to power the preamp and sockets 1 and 2 used to provide the signal to the power amp, the recommendation being to use socket 2 with a single power amp.

Hi

Ok thanks for that

As Luther suggests, use Hicap socket 2 to connect to the 250. I originally suggested socket 3 as that’s what you’d use on a more modern Hicap.

Your Snaic lead does look a bit dubious with the blue insulation and I wonder whether it’s genuine. The more modern black Snaic 5s are significant better, which may be a good idea down the line.

Yes I noticed that when I pulled it out of the box

Think I’ll replace it with a new one?

Hi

Thanks for the diagram

I also have the manual but I suffer with certain things visually the lines of dots and dashes are like an optical illusion and blur and start spinning when I look at them.

It’s the same with zebra crossings lol

Hi again

My 101/snaps has returned but if like information on connection please

Which socket/ leads go where

I remember as a 4 pin 180 from snaps but then I lose my mind

Regards

Michael

The blue dot is to my 250

Sorry

Can anyone please help me?

Snaps socket 2 carries power, so connect this to the 101 using a Snaic 4. Label at 101 end. Connect Snaps socket 1 to your preamp using a 4 pin to 5 pin interconnect.

I’d suggest that if you gave your thread a sensible title such as ‘Naim NAT 101 connection help’ rather than a silly title, you’d attract more people who are able to help.

It’s also a good idea to keep your manuals in a safe place. Everything you need to know is explained in there.
