Does anyone know the purpose of teh small screws on the top-plate in this picture?
Neither of mine has them Catalyst and a quick look at some pictures of LP12’s online hasn’t turned up one that does🤷🏻♂️
yeah I checked a number of online pictures too - which is what prompted the question.
They must be some form of ‘upgrade’ but not sure what
I presume you bought yours preloved?
How long have you had it?
Did you get it from a dealer or was it a private individual you got it from?
Maybe you could ask the seller🤷🏻♂️
Not bought it yet - its for sale near me. I’m in touch with the seller but he’s slow to respond and i wanted an independent view from the folks here.
Fair enough, sorry I can’t be of more assistance. Hopefully someone will have an answer for you🤞🏽
Have you considered approaching a dealer that sells preloved and custom built LP12’s, like the well known one in Leicestershire. They can normally turn out a unit to a budget😉
thanks for the reply - I’m sure someone will pop up with the answer soon.
Yes that’s on my list of possibilities -
Hi
It’s not standard and shouldn’t have them.
Linn have never done a top plate like that.
It’s an aftermarket mod.
yes its a concern for sure - it obviously securing the top plate to the Chassis - but as you say I’ve not seen that on any LP12s I’ve been looking at.
Probably one to avoid - unless I can get it v cheap.
Edit - and replace the top plate..
Looks like it’s been modified to fix to the top rail in the plinth.
Defo not right.
See the man in Leicester.
