Lyric of the Day

Your choice as you wish guys! I’ll start:

“Your loyalty is not to me but to the stars above” (Bob Dylan One More Cup Of Coffee).

Before you slip into unconsciousness
I’d like to have another kiss
Another flashing chance at bliss
Another kiss, another kiss

The days are bright
And filled with pain
Enclose me in your gentle rain
The time you ran was too insane
We’ll meet again, we’ll meet again

The crystal ship is being filled
A thousand girls, a thousand thrills
A million ways to spend your time

Oh tell me where your freedom lies
The streets are fields that never die
Deliver me from reasons why
You’d rather cry, I’d rather fly

The crystal ship is being filled
A thousand girls, a thousand thrills
A million ways to spend your time
When we get back
I’ll drop a line

Graham a go to track for me, sublime.

It may just be my favourite of all Doors songs. Your choice of ‘sublime’ is good!

CSN - Anything At All

A Crosby song Nick could apply to most message boards to some degree.

“Anything you want to know just ask me
It’s worth every cent it costs
And you know it’s free for you
Special deal”

Just had a weird experience. I was reading this post at my desk with PR playing in the background. As I read the lyric it started playing on the computer. As its quiet it took me a second to realise it was not in my head. I think I need a lie down!

Now that is spooky. It must be the alignment of the stars, or some other benign influence beyond our understanding.

“It’s a habit I have, I don’t get pushed around
Stop twinkling your star like you do
I’m not the blueprint
For all of your B films
Because I’ve seen that movie too

The one where the players are acting surprised
Saying love’s just a four letter word
Between forcing smiles, with the knives in their eyes
Well their actions become so absurd”

I’ve Seen That Movie Too - Elton John/Bernie Taupin

Always brings a smile to my face, clever and funny.

Well, you should see Polythene Pam
She’s so good-looking but she looks like a man
Well, you should see her in drag dressed in her polythene bag
Yes, you should see Polythene Pam
Yeah, yeah, yeah

Get a dose of her in jackboots and kilt
She’s killer-diller when she’s dressed to the hilt
She’s the kind of a girl that makes the “News of the World”
Yes, you could say she was attractively built
Yeah, yeah, yeah

It’s not quite the same thing after the enforced closure of Murdoch’s dear old ‘News Of The Screws’!

'T was in the darkest depths of Mordor
I met a girl so fair
But Gollum, and the evil one
Crept up and slipped away with her

I heard there was a secret chord
That David played, and it pleased the Lord
You don’t really care for music, do ya?
Well it goes like this
The fourth, the fifth
The minor fall, the major lift
The baffled king composing Hallelujah

Now Watergate does not bother me,
Does your conscience bother you.

If I’ve got the right people, there’s a thread running about them at Knebworth?

Appropriate for today I thought

“ It doesn’t matter what they say in the jealous games people play”

This is just a night in the City of Culture
But everyone’s whacked and looks like vultures

The Zutons today.

While a million thoughts go racin’ through my mind
I find I haven’t spoke a word
And from the bedroom those familiar sounds
Of our one baby’s cryin’ goes unheard.
