I’ve spent several hours scouring our house for the manual for my old Naim CDS - the original one from when it first came out!
As I’m planning to sell it, I really need to have the manual to go with it, although it’s not exactly Rocket Science to do - as long as you know how to release the transit screws.
There is no link to manuals to download on the Naim website. IIRC there is an archive of these things somewhere, but where?
I don’t have a copy of the original CDS manual (one of the few I don’t have), just the CDS2, which is different. Your best bet is to contact Naim support and see what they might have in a pdf.
I have just done a more intensive search of the forum for my answer, and a kind person posted a link to the original manual via dropbox 2 years ago. Many thanks to him! I have downloaded the PDF and printed it out. Sorry for bothering everybody. Must have another go at getting the original remote to work (serves me right for storing it with the battery inside … sigh).
In a way, I will be sorry to see it go. It really is an excellent product, but alas gets very little use now and as posted elsewhere it sits on a shelf in a spare bedroom. I have already purchased a used Cyrus CD 6 SE, which I can ‘shoehorn’ into my setup (it’s only half width!), and some time in the next few days I will connect it to my 552 and NDS. I’ll see whether to just use it as a CD player or as a transport when I get to listen to it playing some of my favourite musical pieces.
Funnily enough, I was just trying to find the link again, and can’t! However I do now have a PDF copy of the CDS manual which I could post here if that fits with forum rules?
