Bad news today. I see Marilyn Mazur has passed away.
I have seen her brilliant percussion work a couple of times with Jan Garbarek, and I have a couple her albums. She was the only woman to have been in one of Miles Davis’s groups.

A lovely lady. I first saw her with Jan Garbarek in the early 90’s and last saw her in 2022 in Berlin for a concert and then I had dinner with her and Anja Lechner after the show. Charming lady.

Sad news. I saw her in the Royal Festival Hall in London with Jan Garbarek, not long after I Took Up the Runes was released (early 90s). Fantastic percussionist.
