Marten Speakers

Solid tech - Rack of Silence. Made in Sweden

The existing (old) rack is Finite Elemente Spider and I have been using this rack for 20 years. The concept looks the same but it’s not, and the Solid Tech looks and feels more solid. The reference levels are suspended on springs and not fixed to the pillars. Interestingly the Solid Tech sounds the way it looks, more solid and robust sounding, better separation, slam and dynamics.

There is a site which compared both Solid Tech Rack of Silence and Finite Elemente Spider, and the review is quite accurate.

It’s vinyl sheet, not wood.

Yes, Marten is also from Sweden.

I do forget about that sometimes  . QLN is from here too.

Where are you located?

I received the Marten Parker Duo Diamond Edition Speakers 4 weeks ago.
Paired with the Luxman L-590AX II, it sounds amazingly good.
It sounds better - to my taste - than the Class AB Accuphasse.
Looks like Marten loves class A…
They are better than Duke 2 on bass. The highs are a little more airy and refined.
In general, they are better than the Duke 2, but if you think from a financial point of view, they are not worth the price difference.

It’s my speakers ,at the dealer I listened to them with the Accupase E-4000

Very nice indeed…

On YouTube you can’t tell exactly the sound of any speakers.
But you can hear a little, their timbre.
The dealer posted my speakers on YouTube for commercial purposes, to advertise them… and it seems like a good idea.
He already has an order for another pair.
People have not heard of Marten… it seems that this company does not aggressively promote its products. It’s a shame, because most of those who listened to them immediately fell in love with Marten’s sound.

Thats what happened with me :grinning:

Do you have a sense if the Parker Duo is easier or more demanding to drive compared to the Duke?

They drive almost the same as the Duke2 but are louder at the same volume knob level.
This shows that they drive a little easier than the Duke2

That’s very good to know, thanks, as I intuitively thought they might be more demanding.

Has anyone managed to listen to the Luxman 509Z?
My dealer is receiving it in February, and I was thinking that I can exchange the Luxman L 590 AX II with it, if it sounds better

It’s not Class A. Please let us know if you manage to compare both 509Z and 590AXII preferably side by side in your system.

Hi All, It’s been a while that I haven’t posted. I was curious whether anyone has made a good test with the Parker Duo and a class A Accuphase amp please.

I listened to the Parker Duo ceramic edition with the Accuphase E-800 3-4 months ago.
They sound great together, but I don’t like the Accucase aesthetically because it has LEDs instead of VU meters
But from the point of view of the sound, it was extraordinarily good.
However… I prefer the Luxman approach in class A.
Of course, it’s just my subjective opinion.

I think Marten has no partner for the distribution in Germany for the time being. I purchased my Parker Duos in Brussels and my dealer sells the whole range of this awesome speaker manufacturer. They are all world class.

Thats right for Germany. That’s a pity, because Germany is a big market. But there are distributors in Austria and Switzerland. Overall, Martens are very rare in German-speaking countries.

Hi there,
I recently toyed with the idea of getting a 2nd demo pair of Duke 2 from my local dealer but was told that the Parker Duo ceramic is better than the Duke 2 in all areas. The Parker Duo ceramic is above my budget but I will compare both Duke 2 and Parker Duo in due time and probably save up for a pair if it’s that good. The Parker Duo diamond that you have is double the price of the ceramic version so it’s out of consideration for me.

Your Parker Duo diamond must be sounding sublime, or perfect. :+1:

Hi everyone, hope all had a good Christmas…

I’m looking for some advice and help from you all on here as I stumbled across this forum when googling for more info on Martens.

Firstly i already have had a demo of the Oscar trio (that were thrown into the mix last minute) after extensively listening to several speakers in the £10-12k range and for me these had something special about them that stood out over the other speakers despite 3 others sounding extremely good kudos 606 titans, atc scm50 and Sonus Faber Olympica Nova III.

I listened to them all with primare pre36 and two 35.2s running mono that I’m looking at getting but I’m waiting on the funds to get them all in the next month or two but I’m going for a final demo for speakers and going to listen to the oscar trio again with the sonus faber Olympica nova III that i heard last time (as want one final listen to them) but also going to listen to the parker duo and the miles 5s on the day for the first time.

I’ve noticed from reading on here those of you who have more experience with Martens and equipment that goes with it as i noticed a lot of people on here seem to be using Parker’s upwards with either very good valve or ab amps to run them.

So my questions are if anyone has experienced Primare at all I’m considering stretching my budget possibly to look at getting a very good integrated with a separate Dac.

So far would really like to try the musical fidelity 800.2 with Martens but it’s hard to find a dealer to try that pairing together in the UK with there being so few Marten dealers around.

The dealer I’m going back to is lining up Gryphon Diablo300 to listen to (even though i have my own worries about the reliability of the sensitive touch buttons on the front and heard a lot of bad things about the remote that they very unreliable and keep falling on users) but can do me a deal on it to bring it in line with the vista amp price or he has chord Ultima amp to try as one if the dacs I’m looking at demoing he has there will be the Chord TT2 dac.

I would love to hear input from you folks on here if you have had experience of martens with any of the above and what you think would be a good pairing for an integrated amp with any of them Martens?….

My budget probably wont be able to get a very top notch DAC which i know is probably the more priority to get is the better source and DAC but i will probably be looking at a one in the region of £4k if i was to get a integrated at around £12k mark.

The Primare set up sounded very good with 95% of the speakers i heard and sounded bloody amazing to my ears with the Oscar trios but I’m not sure how much or far away they are getting the full potential out of the Oscar trios?

….Or with Parker duo or Miles 5 so thats why I’m looking at the possibility of maybe a super integrated with a separate DAC (unless one of them has built in DAC option that is like the Diablo 300 offers)

Lastly I’m general what are your thoughts between the three different Marten models i have mentioned and which one would be the one out of them three would be the more preferable one choice wise?

I know the miles 5 is an obsolete model now and far as I’m aware the Oscar trio replaced it and have heard the Parker duo still have quite a deep bass response for a stand mount so in my head thinking do I sacrifice a bit of low end from the Oscar to have better quality resolution in the Parker duo?

Any advice or opinions from experience would be greatly appreciated regarding the above.

My new sources if it helps at the moment are either going to be Innous zenith mrk3 or Hi-Rose rs130 and a Primare dd35 transport. Vinyl is just an old 70’s Sony direct drive spinner with a Nagoka mp200 cart for the odd record once every so often.

Thanks in advance to any advice or musings on the above…

Now playing,
