That’s interesting, I had an LP12 before, and was happy, then I heard the well-tempered at a show and I just felt it had a lovely clean natural master tape quality to it, it didn’t add or take away anything from either of the 2 cartridges I have used with it, for pure fun I would love to put it up against a fully loaded LP12 or SME.
I don’t know if anyone is interested but it is running in and sounding excellent after 19 days. Fuller and more dynamic without hard edges and the notes start and stop with an incredible tonal depth and decay. Would recommend if anyone is thinking of it. Same as before but more of the same with great musical quality.
Well I’m interested as a fellow MasterGroove owner
Glad your transition seems to be easier than mine
I did the full SR upgrade at great cost, but over the next 6 months the sound quality was up and down like a whores draws, I even ended up plugging my ipod into the 552 which sounded better than a full blown LP12 & stiletto & etna and a Mastergroove SR
But at about 6 months everything slotted into place and stayed there
The original Mastergroove, I found to be on a par with the Superline / Scap DR - the Mastergroove was much more detailed and open but the Superline had more drive and a deeper bottom end
Once the SR had finally sorted itself out it was head and shoulders above the original Mastergroove and Superline

Thanks Lyndon,
Glad to hear it. Sounding excellent now. We always had similar set ups and preferences.
