Most Danceable thread…no mention of the great CHIC yet?
Samba Pa Ti was one of those
I just asked dearly beloved, who used to run a dance group before rheumatoid arthritis struck. Her first reaction was “there are hundreds”. Then, what style? These were ladies of a certain age, but without doubt, their favourite was Michael Jackson - Billie Jean.
Different strokes for different folks, from my sixth form days, any track from Morris On!
Moving on to college, alternate weeks there were folk dance nights, the most likely request was the Oxo Reel.
All a bit “too modern” for me….
Ah, yes, I’d forgotten reels and jigs, not to mention ceilidhs!
Unfamiliar with some, giving them a listen
Was thinking not so much choreographed dance, but more for those shaking it at a random party. Point well made though
Could throw that on the second system, Throbbing Gristle on the primary,
Crank both and have bail money at the ready when the police arrive

I didn’t and believed I couldn’t, but am learning I can, and enjoying the process. (But for me music for dancing is different from music for listening, much less demanding, and doesn’t need as good a system to maximise effectiveness.
Shame by Evelyn “Champagne” king from the disco era - 12inch disco mix of course. But, all time fav is EW&F’s September.
