Mu-so 2 light flashing orange

Hi there,

The light on my Naim Mu-so 2nd generation is flashing orange endlessly. When I click the reset button once, it flashes purple for 10 seconds before going back to flashing orange.

I’ve tried the following in attempts to fix it, none of which have been successful:

• Holding the reset button for roughly 20 seconds
• Powering off the device for a while
• Resetting the Wi-Fi router

Any help would be massively helpful.

Many thanks,
Flynn

Try leaving it off overnight. ie several hours.

Check some of my suggestions and manual info in this post:

Hi,

I read through that thread and did everything listed but still no luck. I tried leaving it turned off for 24 hours, but it turned back on with the same blinking orange light as before.

I reset the device again, using the pin hole, and came to the same result as before; no change in light colour. It changed to purple for 10 seconds when I simply ‘clicked’ the reset button, but quickly went back to orange again after that. Even when the light was purple, there was no sign of it on the naim app while ‘setting up a new device’.

Any other ideas? Thank you

I presume you’re connecting via WiFi…? If at all possible, I’d encourage you to try and connect to your network via wired Ethernet.

That aside, is this a new mu-so and you’ve never had a connection or has it suddenly started doing this and it once did work on your home LAN…?

When the mu-so is powered on (and flashing orange LED), could you login to your router and see if the mu-so is appearing as a connected device on the LAN, presumably will be in DHCP client/lease list somewhere on your router settings page….If you can identify it, note the displayed IP address.

With this address, type into a PC browser window (or even phone/tablet web browser) – do you get anything? With a bit of luck, you should get the mu-so’s web Configuration page….?

Have you been in contact with Naim support to ask for assistance?

If its under warranty, send it back

Orange flashing indicates it is still in start up.
If that’s the state you get when you switch it on, it’s faulty.
