Apologies in advance if this issue remains part of a live topic. This has been raised previously but the only threads I have seen are closed.
I’m connecting a Uniti Atom and Muso Qb2 but I don’t appear to have the multi room option on the Naim App, it doesn’t feature anywhere. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling.
I am able to stream simultaneously via the remote controls. The Atom is plugged in direct via ethernet, the Muso via Wi-Fi, the firmware is up to date.
Is there any other App people can recommend, I’m using Android.
The icon normally shows up as a small square of four squares on the now playing screen in the app.
So set something playing in one of your streamers, tap on the volume bar at the bottom of the screen in the app, then you should see the multi-room icon.
I always found that to lip sync with TV, you had to take the audio feed to the Naim unit from the TV itself and not the DVD player or Skybox. But why multiroom might affect that is a bit of a mystery to me.
Lip sync is always hit and miss in my experience. I’ve used HDMI, optical and Bluetooth between my TV and Atom, and the delay can vary from one minute to the next. Sometimes just stopping the TV and restarting whatever you’re watching is enough to get things back in sync after they have drifted out.
I ended up doing that and it’s no big loss not having both on simultaneously.
I’ve got front facing speakers/bass via the Atom/HDMI Arc which works really well watching films. I had wondered what it would be like having the Mu-So on multi-room but behind me. Appreciate it wouldn’t replicate surround sound, just more of the same of what’s emanating from the front. With the lipsync issue that’s a no-go, although suspect it would’ve been a bit of gimmick in any event.
