I have muso2 and qb2. Playing the same hires (192kHz, 24-bit) on USB stick freezes after a few seconds on muso2 but works on qb2 - it is re-produceable… Anyone experienced this ?
dont know, but the first thing I would try would be to power off the muso2 and unplug from the wall for a few minutes
the device is made in China, so some of them would have faults ? restarts naturally does nothing!!! Many more faults on my muso2 - worst crappy hifi ever
Streamers are typically based on the Linux operating system, including Naim Streamers. That means they all have caches that help with they are flushed, not to mention possibly memory errors which are all cleared by a full restart. Whilst in my experience, linux copes much better than Windows without a reboot, it’s always the first option to try to ensure everything starts up cleanly.
Have you tried this as yet?
Sure, the naim has stability issues with wifi also, so assume more fundamental issues
Why?
DG…
Perhaps he wants a conversation about quality control of the ndx2 …
More on topic: I would try a different usb stick too.
Sure already tried other usb sticks, plus they play fine on other naims, but muso2 freezes on 192ghz/24-bit - my phony retailer even claims 192/24 is not supported
Our Muso 2 plays hi res files from a USB no problem at all FWIW

I would speak to your retailer as this may indicate a fault if the files play OK on another Mu-So. Otherwise, have you contacted Naim support yet? support@naimaudio.com
Surely it should work, but musu2 freezes, so the device is defect… but getting retailer or naim to agree is not easy, as they have no test-suite
It’s the function of the dealer, otherwise contact the distributor for your country.
Also would be good to know where you are, as usual

Correct, it should work
Possibly. One of the reasons people come on this Forum is to get some idea from other members on how to diagnose an issue. I dont get the impression you are interested in this.
Can you clarify if you have tried this, and what was their response
Great, do you know anyone with a similar stick to try or a Muso friend Nicheyzh?
Martin
Retailer only played normal mp3, no hires
works fine on my qb1 and qb2…
Presumably you can take your USB stick to the retailer, and presumably they can test it on other devices they have in store
