Hi all, I have a MuSo2 with latest firmware version (4.3.2-6482).
I have used it with AirPlay2 for several years without issues, but for the last year or so, I am having a kind of issues that make the device more or less unusable for me.
It starts playing via AirPlay very well but whenever I skip a song, rewind or so, it stops playing 90% of the times, while the iPhone still thinks it’s playing (time keeps running). Then I sometimes can get it to continue playing by rewinding the current song back to start for a few times, but the only way to really get out of this is power off/power on. However that helps only for a few minutes and on the next skip the same issue would occur again.
I did a factory reset, to no avail.
Issues appear with other iOS devices as well (latest iOS version).
Did anyone else experience similar problems? What else could I do? Thanks for any hints!
Useful to know model of your control point (iPhone) + firmware version. That’s so when anyone uses search, the latest will likely have changed.
My Muso2 plays airplay fine.
Likely it will be a wifi issue. If your Muso is connecting to one band and your control point to the other, issues can arise, depending on the make of router.
Easiest way to progress is to connect Muso2 with a patch cable direct to your router.
If its easier to do that with a control point a usb-c or lightning to rj45 adaptor, to which you connect a patch cable (few pounds from the usual places).
Hi sound-hound, many thanks!
My control devices are an iPhone 14 Pro and a 4th gen iPad Air which I have regularly updated to the then-latest iOS version over the many months that the problems persisted.
Indeed I have two WiFi bands and I assume the MuSo connects via the 2,4GHz band so that’s a great hint that I will follow up!
Let us know how you get on - it would also be useful if you simply state iOS version 17.4.1 or whichever you are using at the time of posting. Since I don’t use the cloud for backups, I only update my iPhone when I have done a backup, so in commenting that airplay works here, a different version may make a difference. Similarly, the make of your router?
