Muso qb 1st gen

I’ve seen a few posts about first generation Muso Qb but none exactly the same as the issue I am having. The Muso switches on (power light indicated on top only no further action). Factory reset or pin button at back does nothing. Ever since new app came in I can’t find the device when I login to my router either. Any ideas? Has anyone been able to resolve a simular issue? How can you do a firmware update if you can’t get into it?
Thank you… Device was purchased years ago so no warranty but very sentimental value

Hi, if your router isn’t seeing the Muso the first thing to try is to restart the router.
Best to turn off both router and Muso, after a couple of minutes turn on the router, then when it’s fully up and running turn on the Muso.
If you are using WiFi, this is not the Muso’s strongest point. Use Ethernet if possible.
Do you have any other devices running your network, such as WiFi extenders etc?

The first thing I do if my Muso-QB1 disappears is to turn it off by unplugging it from the mains, wait a few minutes, then plug it back in and see if it connects to the router.
If that doesn’t work, unplug it again and do a re-boot of the router.
Wait for the router to fully reboot, only then reconnect the power to the Muso-QB1.
If it still refuses to connect to your network, I’d try a factory reset of the QB.
This means pushing the pinhole button thingy for TEN SECONDS until the light on the back changes, then it will be like a new QB.
Your iPhone (or whatever device you use) will need to connect to the wifi system of the QB which is NOT your home wifi name.
Once connected it will then search for your home network and prompt you to connect to your home wifi.
Failing all of that, you could try connecting the QB via ethernet (move the QB close to the router if necessary) and do an update over an ethernet cable.
If you actually mean that your QB won’t turn on at all, try unplugging it and leaving it a long time such as overnight and see if that works.

Thank you yes I have ethernet connected and have restarted router and Muso multiple times. The issue is that my reset button (pin at back) no longer illuminates and no loght comes on there , and I’ve tried holding it down for ten seconds. The power light on top is on so I know there is power going in

I have no way to connect to it… I do have wifi extenders but the device is right next to my fibre router and plugged in anyway.

Does your pinhole illuminate? Tried this but will keep on it

The pinhole does not illuminate.
The light at the rear is to the right of the reset pinhole.

Corrected, but yes that light directly next to pinhole isn’t illuminating. Does anybody know if these are still bring repaired

Talk to your Naim dealer; these are serviced at the factory.

Since I cannot see the lights I have no idea if what I experience from time to time is the same. My qb often after either having been used over airplay and then gone into standby over night, or if my broadband has been unstable often with short periods of no network/internet access refushes to reconnect to the network after standby. Often it helps to get it on wired network but not in your situation it seems. Another hack to try is if you own an iphone or ipad connect it to the usb in the back of the unit, the ipad may require ttoo much power I do not know. This seems at least thelats times I have expenrienced this to wake up the digital side while the iphone is charging. How this happens or what happens I do not know, but often it works.
I have assigned a fixed dchp ip address in my router and noted it down so I can ping the ip address. I am not sure this has any effect but at least you can test if there is live at the device.
