While comparing M2Tech and S.M.S.L USB digital outputs from my computer I gave the optical socket input of the QB a try. Obviously it sounded pretty good but I was surprised that it only supported sample rates up to 96KHz. Not a real problem since the foobar2K player can easily resample using its output DSP filter, but I haven’t noticed any difficulty with my 192KHz files when network streamed.
Incidentally the jury is still out on M2Tech vs SMSLPO100 when using the digital phono input to my main amp but the SMSL is handled well by the QB.
