My Dream System - Now Sold - I’ve Moved On

Bravo. You may have just contributed to saving me quite a lot of money as the Selekt one-box solution was sort of raising its head again…….

It’s becoming very obvious that using my 222/300 with actives, should I wish/decide to go down that path, is definitely the way forward. :scream:

A circular room should be good for sound. I will ask to install my system to the Director.

Have you considered downgrading your Selekt with any of the stereo cartridge options ?
The Katalyst modules are coming up now for a good price, and a dealer may be very willing to take your Mono Organik modules and mono line out cartridges on a part-ex basis.
I am running Stereo Organik (Line-out) in my Selekt Edition having recently upgraded from Katalyst and I am very pleased with the result.

The Atom HE is good but a different sound signature to the Selekt and although price cannot always be a measure of quality there is a considerable difference between them - I thought the HE sounded like a 282 which I had moved away from a couple of years prior to hearing the HE - trust your ears, not others’ :slightly_smiling_face:

Good heavens! What has happened to your system?

Maybe you made too many changes too quickly and got caught up in it all.

This time next year where will you be? Maybe buy your next system and leave it alone for 2 to 3 years.

Or build a system that you can love, slowly but surely.

I thought what you had was perfect personally and you could have left it alone. But it’s your choices. Enjoy the music!

This is an interesting but depressing topic!

I have my Dream System and have kept it! I worked towards it over a period of years and it was my goal.

LP12 Klimax and full 500DR system. Yes, there have been issues especially with firmware dramas. And I have considered selling the Naim stuff off. But I think that can happen once you reach a dream system! It’s a feeling of attaining your goal, feeling satisfied, but then thinking what now?

Decided to stick to it and enjoy the music. Am enjoying my vinyl collection more and more.

I would consider other systems but I have reached my goals. So right now I don’t feel the need to change it or sell it on.

It’s a case of focusing on musical enjoyment and engagement now rather than seeking out system upgrades.

The key is to HODL and do nothing. Let the Naim settled and be rewarded with this long term investment. Diamond hand one should.
