Discovered had an ethernet socket in the wall of my care home room!! It took me less than 2mins to connect the cable and register the app. What are a difference in signal and audio. Also joined Spotify Connect a breeze and easier for me than Tidal. Because of rejoining Spotify Connect I get first 3 months free .
For all of you with gen 1 I recommend connecting by ethernet cable if you can, signal more stable and better. Because I use Pixel 6, I had to go into Developer Options to confirm aptx Bluetooth. Whist there turned off standard Bluetooth completely. It seems to have stabilised the signal considerably
I am staggered by the audio quality from such an old machine. I listen to music and books a lot everyday and the old Mu-So never misses a beat. If money is tight don’t dismiss the 1, I don’t think Naim offered advanced Bluetooth on the 2. I thank you all as I could not have managed without the kind help and encouragement of you all. Happy Listening. J
Yes, I would use Airplay and keep Bluetooth turned off as it’s another thing to chew your phone battery, but if you use an Android phone that’s not really an option. No matter - what’s important is that you have a setup that works for you. Good that you found that Ethernet socket, WiFi isn’t the best feature of the 1st gen Muso!
Thanks a lot Chris most helpful and a credit to the forum . Sorry, I should have mentioned, I use a Google Pixel 6 standard model. It’s a nice phone on a budget, if you have a severe disability. I guess the Muso not the best with Android, but I love everything about it. When I have saved, maybe I’ll get a used iPad to go with it. I can only thank you again Chris, I learn so much from this forum.
Thanks sounds . I am listening to an audiobook on Spotify ‘A Book Of Silence’. It is the only speaker I owned that makes audiobooks sound good . Still wonder if I should get iPad for Airplay? J
The muso 1 is still a great device. It really benefits from careful placement. The distance from the rear wall is critical I have found. From memory I think mine is about 13 inches from the rear wall. Glad to hear you are enjoying yours
