Will I notice a difference if I switch from an NAC 282 to an NAC 332? Also,I think the 332 has a decent built-in headphone amp.
As always, only a good home demo will tell you for sure . On paper it should be better, but whether it fits well with the rest of your system only you can tell by listening in your own system and room.
Are you contemplating going full NC at some point? The NC 250 works well with the 332.
Yes there is a difference - I did this exact swap.
It’s different though so don’t assume you will like it, and it’s a big financial outlay.
I am quite happy with my 250 DR at the moment; however, if the NC 250 made a noticeable improvement, then yes.
Can you explain the difference?
Greater extension at the frequency extremes; increased clarity.
Not sure it’s more ‘involving’ though.
You might notice a difference going to a 252 from your 282. Might be less money and more bang for your buck.
IIRC the 332 is supposed to be better than the 282, and just under the 252, until you add a power supply, then it beats both
Or, maybe, the NAC 552?
I upgraded a 72/hc to the 332/npx300/nvc-tt. Fantastic move forward from an already excellent 72. You should go listen first. The NC is in my view more similar to a next generation olive series than the OC you are using. It is fast like the olive. There may be some adjustment for you. That said the 332 is just fantastic. Really.
Or a Statement.
A 332 and an NC 250 would be a significant step up if you like the NC sound.
