NAC 552 4-pin DIN (216°) to RCA power amp input – pinout help

Hi all,

I have a NAC 552 preamp and would like to connect it to a non-Naim power amplifier that only has RCA inputs.

The NAC 552 provides output on a 4-pin 216° DIN connector, and I’m considering making a custom DIN-to-RCA interconnect.

Could someone please confirm:

  1. Which pins are left signal, right signal, and signal ground on the NAC 552 4-pin (216°) output?
  2. Is there anything unusual about the NAC 552 output wiring that I should be aware of when connecting to a standard single-ended RCA input power amp?
  3. Has anyone here successfully made or used such a cable?

If you look at the rear panel of a HICAP it shows you the PIN orientation on the DIN4 Signal Outs. The 552PS DIN4s are the same. It’s single-ended, so you should have no real issues but just be sure not to go any longer than 2m in length and stick with an easy to drive cable.
