I found it a rather big step up. The 552 is laser sharp with it’s stereo imaging (the 252 was good, but the 552 noticeably more so).
The 552 was more musically engaging, and the upgrade was an easily justified step. Even though I had only had the 252 a couple of months.
I’m running mine with a (non-DR) 300, and it sounds fantastic.
