Understood, I was already made aware of this by @davidhendon 
I’m not purchasing the coax to try playing music with higher res than 192/24. I’m just trying to eliminate the crackling noise during playback from the Node to the 272.
Today I received the coax cable, so I used that to connect the Node to the 272. Still the crackling noise. So I’m sending the cable back. I will continue this topic on the BS forum, but I doubt I’ll get a solution for this. For now, I will just stick with the analog connection.

So crackling on both optical and coaxial digital inputs? Sounds like a bad board unfortunately.
