NAC202 or NAC252 with XS2+HicapDR

Hello all.
So now I finally have the opportunity for an upgrade - using the XS2 as a Power Amp and using NAC202 for pre amp.
Which cable should I use between the NAC PSU and the XS2? Din4 to Din4?

Thank you in advance
Ron

Yes, a SNAIC 4.

So is there a question regarding the 252?

Probably a mistake; the 252 for a start only works with a supercap.

Yes you are right.. having Hicap DR I can only integrate nac202.. So I will go this way.

You could also consider a 282 which can be powered by your Hicap.

Okay .. so knowing that I will, eventually, upgrade the X2 to NAP .. would it be wiser to go with the 282?

I quite like the 202, but the 282 is better for sure, so if you can find one, that would be my choice. Then you can sell your XS2 later and get a separate power amp such as a 200 or 250.
When looking for a used 282 remember that it requires a NAPSC power supply as well as a Hicap. The NAPSC is normally supplied with the 282, so check with the seller that it is included.

202/200 is often derided here, and is easily overlooked. Personally, it is all I aspire to.

You have to decide where you want to end up. You have to decide if you are are your own man, or the forum’s man.

I was never completely satisfied with my 202, the improvement when I traded it for a 282 was very substantial.

Okay. Found one at ebay.
Guess I have to buy special naim cables for all the sources- Phono - Cyrus phono stage, Dac - Qutest and Apple TV..
CD is 5si so I already have cable for it.

If you’re using a Nait XS2, the same cables will work with the 282. The only difference is that the 282 only has 2 RCA inputs, but it’s generally best to use DIN, so you may want to go for an RCA to DIN cable for your sources like your Qutest.
