I have a nac82 and I leave it set to Tuner. But sometimes when I come down in the morning it has switched inputs. Always to the second-last one on the list.
Anyone else seen this?

Possibly due to a spurious IR signal, try removing the batteries from the remote before bed.
I´ve had about ten Nac 82´s,never had that problem.
Is there another remote in the house, that you use for something else ?
Wow 10? Sounds like that on-again, off-again girlfriend that you should’ve just married ![]()
Thanks for the replies.
We have it on the sideboard and use it as a radio (Yamaha T1) and don’t use the naim remote.
We have a Panasonic plasma TV remote and a Humax Freesat remote in the same room.
It always switches from Tuner to Aux (second from end).
Not the end of the world but interesting.
(I had it serviced a few years ago)
Perhaps take all remotes to bed to help eliminate them
@Skeptikal anything to add ?
I could hide the other remotes but it only happens occasionally.
I start to think the problem is gone but then it’s back.
As I said it’s not the end of the world but just wondered if it was a known problem
It always jumps from tuner to aux
It’s a long shot but you don’t have any pets do you, such as a curious cat?
What, as in a cat that doesn’t like the radio station that has been selected?
Intermittent power? Where are you would help
Martin
Check whether there’s a hidden remote stuck down the side of a sofa or armchair. This has often been the cause of “ghostly” behaviour…
Just to check other remotes you use don’t change it. When helpful TV engineer set up sky remote I found Uniti 1 volume changed with Sky remote. On same network but not used for TV nor requested modification.
My samsung tv remote will sometimes change my nac 52 input from input 6 to input 4
Out of interest, what else is connected to your 82 ?
Change it for a 72. Problem solved. ![]()
Thanks for all the responses. I will try to answer them all at once in this email
a) I don’t have any pets
b) I tried pointing my TV remote and my Satellite remote at the NAC82 put pressing the buttons did not change anything
c) I have a ND5XS streamer but I don’t use its remote. Also a Marantx CD63 (again don’t use the remote)

The jump from Tuner to Aux is fairly rare. (It never jumps from Tuner to anywhere else). If I have a power cut (very rare) the NAC82 resets to Phono. Whenever I have finished using the streamer or CD player I set the NAC82 back to Tuner.
The problem only seems to happen every few weeks so I can live with it. Interesting that noone else has encountered this problem.
[I actually had a 32.5/SNAPS before I for the 82 and I found the 82 was a big improvement]
Cover the sensor with tape and see what happens.
Just take the 82 to bed.
Or take the batteries out for a less sticky outcome? ![]()
