I thought to share my findings. So as some of you may know I have a complete tube system. The expert advice has always been to use longer interconnects and shorter speaker cables.
I waited a long time to get a hold of a shorter length of NAC A5 (2m) to connect to my tube monoblocks. Imagine my surprise when I connected it and realised that the shorter length sounds edgy. Not sharp just uneasy. I thought it had something to do with the cables settling in as I have changed the location of all the components. However, when I installed the 8 metre length of NAC A5, the sound improved.
It’s such an obvious difference. The music is more calm, more controlled, better focus. So Naim’s philosophy goes beyond their own gear.
