Not at the same listening session, but I found the 282 rather relentless, loud and forward. The 252 is, to me more relaxed. I can listen for much longer without being stressed or tired in the least. It’s detailed and can have drive when the music needs it but not over powering. I would say though it can be a bit less involving sometimes.

A bit like other things in life 
I tend to think that the less involvement part is more down to the music, not the 252.
