Been using Keilidhs in my office for a few years now. To my ears, they boogie like Kans, sound more integrated than Isobariks, and aren’t slightly stand off’ish like Kabers.
However, they lack openness and sound a bit like there’s a thin blanket over them, which I get used to but thought I might find something better. They already have the final gen tweeter.
Currently trying my Katans as a taster and they’re certainly more open and tuneful. Timing and groove aren’t quite as good but I wonder if the closed-box Ninka design might bridge the gap.
Anyone heard passive Ninkas with Naim amps? I’m using a 12/160. I’ve also owned M140s and, whilst I enjoyed them, don’t really want to go back there - not a huge M109 / 3K array fan.
Whilst Tukans would fix the balance, they’re too bass-light for this room.
It’s been a while since I’ve owned the Ninka. Quite a remarkable speaker which can be placed close to a near wall. Easy to convert from passive to aktive which is also quite a step up …
The 12 balances out really well with the overly warm bolt down 160. I did try using 42/42.5/32/32.5/62/72 instead. The 72 also works really well and I’ve still got that but the musical meaning/synergy is not quite as strong as with the 12, although clarity/timing are better on the 72.
