Naim and Dynaudio Thread

Nice to see the same loudspeakers as I have, but in the opposite colour (white in our case). I don’t think I posted pictures in this thread yet.

I was always under the impression that these were ‘power hungry’ - is the 200 capable of driving these?

The Contour 3.4 do like power. The 200 is probably fine is you don’t have a large room and don’t have expectations for concert-level Mahler symphonies. I drove mine when I had them with a 250DR and they sounded great. I have since moved on to C2s.

The NAP 200 is more than capable of filling our living room (40m2) with beautiful music.

Has anyone heard the Confidence 20s on a Supernait 3? I’m curious how that would work.

Hi, running a 272/250dr setup. Contour 30 works ok? Watts not missing? Livly rom here and a pair of audiovector s3 signature plays to bright

I don’t think I’d recommend Confidence 20 on the SN3. Special Forty would be a better match.

I’m sure they would work very well. There are previous reports of them working well with the Nova.
I’m running an SN3 with Evoke 50 and am very happy with the outcome.
The SN3 is a very capable amp.

Superlative. But if we take the recording and the room, the two extremes of home reproduction, as a single, decisive component and put it at the beginning of the chain, this becomes the epitome of a mullet system. Sadly almost useless.

I thought the 250 worked great with Contour 30. No issues at all.

I would expect Contour 30 to work well with 250. My S3.4 worked great. My Confidence C2 worked pretty well with 250 DR, but a 300 made them shine, especially with bass response.

Is this appropriate?

Seems a new “Contour i” series has been introduced … I don’t think it is allowed to post a link …

And two new colours for the Special Forty …

Wouldent be mad on the 40’s new colour options, pity they dident continue the originals alongside. The Contour 20i sounds interesting though, although I have floor standers I quite fancy a pair of punchy standmounters

I’m happy to see this thread. I had no idea Dynaudio paired well, I had a pair of EMIT M10’s connected to my old -definitely-not-high-end- TEAC amp, and it was a Muso QB that lured me further into Naim. Since last month I got rid of the TEAC for a Uniti Star, deciding that quarantine is only bearable with good music… . The Uniti is now really kicking the EMIT’s! One hell of a difference, the EMIT’s I think were basically a bit bored by the TEAC I guess. The huge step forward is making me think I will never need anything else in my small study/mancave. Yes, they roll-off below 80Hz a little quicker than advertised, but that is nothing a modest subwoofer cannot fix… Digitalized all CD’s, handed them over to a thrift shop, and now listening with new amazement to some old songs.

With the man cave/office now being used 10 hours + a day my ‘cobbled together’ hifi has been a godsend. Ok not as musical as Naim/Dynaudio downstairs, but helps pass the long hours

Even though I sold all of my Naim equipment apart from a 5 meter pair of Nac A5 ( which SHOCK HORROR you can see coiled up ) I still kept hold of these beauties. They get the best from anything you connect them to but they where under powered with all of the Naim amps I used them with even the 300.
