Naim app request

Hello,
I’ve just bought a Mu-so 2 and Mu-so Qb 2. Lots of positives to say regarding audio quality and ease of setup.

My question, how frequently is the app updated based off community feedback?

I have a few requests and quibbles regarding; search tool, volume control, device profile sharing and multi-room mode.

Is it worth me mentioning them, or should I just be grateful for what I have?

Naim don’t routinely monitor the forum, so if you have specific requests it’s best to email customer support. support@naimaudio.com Whether it’s actioned is something else; what’s desirable to some is often undesirable to others.

Thank you. I thought that might be the case. I’ll be sure to email my thoughts.

On the off chance anyone is interested here’s briefly

  • Search tool only accurately finds correct listing when the complete word/s are entered
  • Increase shortcuts from 5 to 10 but duplicating existing buttons (much like old car stereos had)
  • Volume control is inconsistent ie. is sometimes sticky
  • Alarm volume setting is numerical. For consistency the number should appear in all other volume bars together with the existing slider bar
  • Sleep mode: ability to enter a sleep time rather than just a count-down timer
  • After setting up the Mu-so and moving on to the Mu-so Qb it would be nice to have all the shortcuts copied over
  • Ability to “lock on/off” multi-room mode. So that everything I turn on one mu-so all other mu-so turn on and play the same music
  • Improve listings of favourite podcasts to be in chronological order

Apologies if some of these are incorrect, I’m still exploring the app. But regardless, I’m a very satisfied Mu-so owner.

The regularity of updates is not regular. I think there have been two minor updates in the last month or so, but big updates can be months apart as they get a lot of testing.

This is not the case for me. Where are you searching when this happens?

Also, are you using the app on iOS or Android? There are some differences, so best for people to know which you have.

I mostly use my Android phone, but have since learnt that my iOS tablet is far better.

For example if I search for Public Service Broadcasting. Android needs all 3 words, whereas iOS just needs Public to list my correct choice.

What little I have requested has been implemented eventually. This could be a coincidence but it never hurts to feed your requests in to the mothership. You can ask in here or contact Naim via their website.

Nothing wrong with submitting your feedback, but don’t expect it to change anything, most of it the team is probably already aware of, it would be strange otherwise.
