Hello Adam,
In every possible view is the same. The album starts with the second track.

Again, first try to reproduce the issue while replaying from your mobile device (using something like AirPlayer, BubbleUPnP, VLC, …) to exclude whatever problems with your UPnP server.
It is possible that what you are experiencing is a Naim app problem alone but, in spite of what @anon37289833 seems to believe, not necessary.
Have you by the way done the usual rebooting of all the devices involved in the operations, including your router?
Good luck,
nbpf
Yes, I started all the device.

Hello John— exactly the same here. Won’t play 1st track.
Spent hours last night trying but can only play 1st track the same way that you have suggested.
Thanks
Mark
I’m having exactly the same problem with the new version of the Naim app. I’m using a QNAP Nas with minim server and the first track skips in folder view. I have to use tagged view which takes 5 or 6 button presses and is not slick at all. This has only happened since the most recent app update. I reported it to support but they offered little help (told me to reinstall app!) and then closed the ticket!
I am also riding the app loses my favourites and always has to be opened twice to get them back…It was for once working well before this recent update…why is it always a backwards step?
Dzięki Jacek.
@greg
Greg - would you mind checking this thread please?
I don’t think it’s an app, but one never knows.
Could you try running a test at the factory with a MinimServe?
Thanks
Adam
Guys - I have now flagged this post to Naim staff.
As it’s Easter Monday, let’s give them a day or so to run some tests and respond.

No problem on my QNAP/Asset NAS.
It is really disappointing. I have switched router /NDS / and qnap off to reset. Uninstalled the naim app then reinstalled the naim app. Guess what! Naim app Still won’t play track 1 in folder view.
My Steaming seems to be spent more messing about rather than listening to music.
Very disappointed.
Thanks
Mark
Thanks Adam - I too have flagged it up.
Thank you for the help.

What do you see in the play queue window?
Does it seem to load the right number of tracks for the album?
Does it try to play the first track and simply skip over it?
I run Minim on my QNAP (though doubt if the make of NAS is relevant) but had not seen the first-track missing problem. However, reading more carefully, I realised it seemed to be in folder view that the issue occurred and I never use folder view. So in the interests of experimentation I tried to replicate the problem and also tried VLC on my phone. In summary: the issue is real. When choosing an album in folder view, a playlist is created (I think) and this seems to omit the first track, or when tracks have been grouped together using Minim’s group tag, omits the first group. But, this only happens in folder view, otherwise the playlist does include the first track. I have no idea whether this is an issue with the app or with Minim but I can report that there I found no problems using folder view with VLC. How relevant this is, I’m not sure as VLC works slightly differently, offering a list of tracks on the album which does include the first one. Selecting this, the app plays all the tracks in sequence as expected. Hope this helps.
Hello Gavin
If there are 6 tracks on an album for example it will only load 5 tracks, and misses the 1st track.
Thanks
Mark
Thanks Peakman - my findings are exactly the same

Mark
If the issue does not show up with VLC (or other UPnP/DLNA control points) then it is very likely a problem of the Naim app, perhaps in conjunction with streamers of the last generation. Anyway, since you cannot use a standard UPnP control point with Naim streamers, there is very little that you can do apart from getting in touch with Naim’s support, I am afraid.
Thx. It’s not really a problem for me personally as I never normally use folder view, but it would be good to get the issue sorted.

I’m having the same problem, works fine if I start from ‘artist’ but misses 1st track if I start from folder view. Using MinimServer on Synology to ND5 xs - this has only occurred since last Naim app update
I’ve been playing with this on Asset UPnP; in Assets “Folder” browse tree route it does play the album from the second track.
But its only in folder view, Artist, Album, Composer & Genre & others are all OK
It looks to me that starting to play the album from folder view at the album point is the problem, its not the end of the Folder View tree, the end of the tree is the individual track(s)
I have raised it with Naim beta test group
Naim just came back & said they are aware and will be fixed in 5.13.
