A couple of hours ago I updated my Atom to the latest firmware, 3.12.0 (5738).
After that, the Atom no longer appears as a Roon endpoint in my Roon Core.
It appears as a Chromecast enabled device, though. Go figure.
Right until the firmware update, Roon and Atom worked faultlessly with RAAT.
Now I can only use Chromecast to stream from Roon to Atom. Any ideas?
If you scroll down the page a bit, do you see the Atom listed as a Roon endpoint that can be enabled? After a firmware update itās possible that Roon no longer recognises your Atom as the same device until you select it again.

Roon only recognizes as endpoint my laptop (with 2 different streaming modes), which Iām using as a remote.
No Atom anymore.
Iāve encountered something similar with the update to 3.11ā¦ AudirvÄna didnāt āseeā my ND5 XS 2 anymore. Turned out to be some kind of strange behaviour in the network. After I restarted the router everything was back to normal again. So maybe thatās an option worth trying.
I just tried that. Rebooted rooter, Atom and Room Core. Problem persists. It looks like the Atom is no longer Roon ready.
Strangeā¦ Should just work imho.

I suspect what the issue is that youāre running old Roon server code. Try and update.
Earlier this year this was a critical security patch on Roon RAAT of which we applied and also did the recommended steps of adding a signed certificate into the product. That means the device will only accept signed code from Roon. if the server is old and doesnāt support signed code then the device wonāt show.

Hmmm, interesting. Iām away from home for a few days but Iāll check as soon as possible. Does this mean I have to update to Roon 2.0? I never did that because I donāt want to mess with whatever works just fine. And truth is everything worked fine until the Atom firmware update.

it sounds like that is the reason. This Roon update was a security critical one and hence why we have done it and rolled it out fairly quickly. This affects all manufacturers, not just Naim and needed an update to Roon RAAT 1.1.47 + apply for a certificate from Roon labs. The certificates breaks compatibility though as the Roon RAAT client will only accept trusted LUA code signed by Roon.
If you want to check then download latest Roon server on your mac/pc and check if the atom is then detected.

Iām seeing something very similar after the latest firmware update on my Naim Uniti Atom, but in combination with Lyrion Media Server.
LMS itself is working fine and I do get radio artwork in the LMS web interface, so the server and plugins are clearly providing valid images. However, the artwork is no longer displayed on the Naim device when streaming via UPnP/DLNA bridge.
Before the update this worked perfectly.
It looks like the new firmware has become a issue with LMS ?
Audio playback and metadata (station name, track info) still work, but artwork is missing completely.
Given that similar issues have appeared with Roon endpoints after firmware updates, I suspect LMS users also have a issue
Would be interesting to hear if others using LMS/UPnP bridges are seeing the same behaviour.

Understandable, but I really would suggest you bring Roon up to date. Youāre running a version which is over 4 years old. Security issues aside (these are serious concerns) the latest Roon 2.65 is a nice step up in responsiveness and everyday functionality.
Hello, everyone and thanks a lot for your replies. Iām sorry for the late reply but I was many days away from home, or I have been very busy to find time to check with Roon and Atom.
To recap, Iām using Roon 1.8 installed in a Win11 miniPC as a core, and Iām using Roon 1.8 installed in my trusty old Win7 Acer laptop as a remote. Because thatās how Iām listening to music, sat on my favorite position with my laptop on me, and while working also changing music on the fly. To give an idea of how much I donāt want to change things that just work, I also have a far newer Acer Win10 laptop which I found frustrating to setup and use and it sits unused in a drawer.
In the pic below my current Roon setup is shown.
Now, from the suggestions I got from you, I understand I should update to core Roon 2.0 to enable the Naim Atom to become Roon ready again. Will I be able to use Roon 1.8 as a remote for this? Because I think Roon 2.0 is not compatible with Win7 to install it on my old laptop.
Or, is it any way to roll back to older Roon builds for my core and remote and older firmware for my Naim Atom to make them communicate again and just leave them like this forever?
You canāt roll back naim firmware, if that had been possible loads of us would have rolled back from 3.10 firmware. I hope you manage to figure out some sort of solution.
No, you cannot use a Roon Remite 1.8 to control a a Roon Core 2.0.
No, you cannot roll back on the Naim app.
You need to update to Roon 2.65.
Or stop using Roon and install a upnp music server.
Running Windows 7 is really not a good idea. Security update aupport ceased over 6 years ago amongst many other reasons

No, a factory reset does not downgrade the firmware.
The Atom already is Roon Ready.
You just need to be running an up to date Roon Core.
You need to update roon.
You seem to have a little beelink box depending on its spec it will run 2 just fine. I cannot think of a reason not to update roon.
You cannot resist updating a smartphone forever either. You need to move on and be in todayās world with all security updates etc. Worse things can happen to you if you do not update to latest software. Valid for most connected hardware these days.
Isnāt it an option to update Roon and install the recent Roon Remote on your phone or tablet?
