Hi all ,with naim not likely to manufacture a cd player in the future im thinking if purchasing there last effort new to keep my system all naim
My cdx is an old girl now and apparently unrepairable ? ,at least a new one would be serviceable for a few years hopefully
What are the alternatives im not a streamer

The only new one is the CD5i. Not in the same league as the Cdx.
Most went for a transport ( Audiolab, Cyrus, Rega….) connected to a Naim Ndac.
Service is very compromised, specifically to the cd mechs, not available anymore.
I would avoid buying a used Cdx2, or Cd5xs or CdS3.

Unfortunately the CDX does not have a digital output so you will not have the option of adding a transport. However, it is repairable! The only thing is that it will be a third party mechanism (provided thats what needs repaired) and there wont be a warranty.
It’s what I fully intend to do when that fateful days arrives.

Well im still enjoying mine ,but one day i suppose it will die .If yours needs a repair in the very distant future hopefully, you can sort mine lol
