I had mine serviced and the transport replaced, yes an improvement.

Clive had my CDS3 serviced last February the replacement vam1202 was a failure sounded 
. Returned for replacement mech due to skipping 
new upgraded mechanism fitted sounds superb now

What was fitted instead of the vam1202.
I believe it could only have been another VAM1202 and the first replacement was simply faulty, unless there was a fault elsewhere in the work that needs to be done to adapt the CDS3 to the VAM1202.
It was another Vam1202, the engineer at doug brady told me it was a better mechanism been upgraded apparently according to report from naim.
The first vam1202 skipped from new and wouldnât play all tracks. The first vam1202 didnât sound right from the beginning, but second one was a huge improvement
I recently bought one from TomTom.

I part exchanged my CDS3 for a CD555 with TomTom a couple of weeks ago. It could have been mine. It was a good one!
