You mention this possible ‘TV based system’ quite often. We have a Panasonic TV with built in sound bar and subwoofer and the sound is very good. Something like this may avoid the need to add amplifiers and speakers, allowing you to concentrate your funds on the main music system. In your new flat it would also be much neater and smaller overall. Just a thought.

At the moment finally getting a decent TV system is about the only decent thing about this move , at the moment I have a 24inch TV and a rather nice Naim system (well I’m pleased with it) . My idea is to at last get a decent TV - but appropriate to the room and match it with a reasonable sound system

Those who mainly stream online but have a little collection of albums which don’t exist on Tidal or Qobuz may find an usb input attractive. And more convenient than a Nas.

I think Naim more than ever needs to please the majority of their new potential customers and not the minority of the past. Spend limited resources on the right thing to convert into a new generation Naim fans that build the brand reputation and keep the brand alive. The existing fan group is slowly dying. What is the average Naim age in here. +65?

I have the CI-Uniti 102 here in Saudi Arabia paired with some AE speakers. It is a fantastic set up and works well…

Whilst possibly a minority, I suspect plenty of people playing their own stored music use USB “even” in 2026 - and some no doubt for some years to come if things don’t break! But clearly such people are actually zero percent of the C102’s target market, though the point is that by the simple move of including USB the number of potential purchasers would be greater as it would include those who want, say, AV via HDMI and also the ability to play from an existing source which may be only USB
Providing you can accommodate the physical size, the new HEKLA is definitely worth a listen for your tv, and perhaps hifi, system….

The 102 seems to me to be an outrageously high value low cost product that with a proper network could sell like hotcakes. One box simple, great streaming, tons of power, great app control, sounds great, looks cool. I wonder about not including an MM phono, but aside from that this thing looks like a real winner.

Well the CI range “found” a market with regular hifi users but it was intended as a custom install item for multi room or in yachts, restaurants etc.
Most of the niggling annoyances people have are mainly due to the fact their use case wasn’t what was originally intended for the CI range.
Which I do find odd. It seems obvious at the size and prices it would have a broader appeal. A CI AV preamp to the range surely can’t be far off. They already have the multi channel power amp on the range.

A range of new build flats that will give me what I want are available, I can buy a smaller flat with a large balcony ( about 3. 5 metres by 1 metre) or a larger property with a smaller balcony.
As I see the balcony as a small garden I am very much inclined to the smaller flat but with a balcony
If it was the larger flat with the smaller balcony the CI102 would be ideal as a TV system with my Harbeth P3ESR or with the smaller flat @HungryHalibut as says a soundbar.
I am not sure about the Helkla as it maybe too big.

My Samsung 4K TV has three usb inputs, along with a few HDMI ports.
I run an optical cable from the TV into my Lumin P1 streamer, which plays through my speakers.
I have played many videos this way, through the stereo.

Interesting that as well as omitting USB there is no optical input on C102.

Well that could be a reason not to buy one. There are many ways to get where he wants to be. Thanks @Richard.Dane , I guess there is an optical input.
I think it’s horrible that it also lacks tape input and FM radio module.
