Naim Forum Album of the Year 2024 -The Poll!

OK everyone - the moment you’ve all been waiting for. This is your chance to vote for the Forum Album of the Year 2024!
I’ve counted up every mention of an artist or band who released a new album in 2024 on the Naim Forum Album of the Year thread. I’ve then ranked those artists/bands to create the shortlist for this poll.
There were 243 albums mentioned so great to see such a wide variety of new music that you’ve been listening to. There were 11 albums that were mentioned 7 times or more and these are:

  • Bonny Light Horseman - Keep Me On Your Mind/Set You Free
  • Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - Wild God
  • Michael Kiwanuka - Small Changes
  • The Cure - Songs Of A Lost World
  • Waxahatchee - Tigers Blood
  • The Smile - Wall Of Eyes
  • Charlie XCX - Brat
  • Arooj Aftab - Night Reign
  • Nilufer Yanya - My Method Actor
  • Billie Eilish - Hit Me Hard And Soft
  • Jamie XX - In Waves

You are only allowed one vote. The poll finishes when it looks like we are all bored of it and we can then crown the winner.

Get those fingers working!

Fantastic work @crispyduck - I have found 2024 a bit of a fallow year new music wise and this has alerted me to many albums that I was unaware of. Thank you, and to all the forumites contributions to the poll - I have voted for my favourite album too.
Happy days.

Is there a cut off date for voting? might need a few days to get through them all before deciding.

No official cutoff - only when I think everyone has lost interest! I don’t want it to drag on too long though. Happy listening!

I would let it go till at least next Monday so some more folks will have a chance to listen to all the albums on the list if they want. There were certainly a few of artists that I would not have listened to but did give a listen and enjoyed a few of them.

Well, David Gilmour didn’t make the cut.

I was expecting much more taking also in consideration the quality of his tour in 2024.

Out of curiosity, how many votes got David?

I agree the tour was great - saw him at the RAH. But the album? I think there were a lot of very average songs rescued by a great DG guitar solo. Just my view but there weren’t many votes for him either

TBH I have been really pleased with the range and diversity of music and artists in this year’s final poll.

None of the above! I think 2024 was a dreadful year for new releases.
