Just want to double confirm from here. I recently asked my dealer to quote me the Naim Fraim and wanted to opt for the darker cherry color. But dealer said Naim currently just offer 2 choices:
Black
Cherry (lighter color)
Would like to get some forum member insight into if this color is indeed no longer being produced. From my guessing, it looked as that wood color will never be sourced again. Any comment?
I ordered a Naim Frame in cherry but was supplied with the tinted (darker) version by mistake. I replaced it with the untinted (lighter) cherry finish. That was about 3 months ago.
I can’t speak to what is available today, but when I bought my fraim early last year I was offered the options below. The cherry does seem lighter than your pic.
Based on the photo, you will need to order Tinted Cherry for your Fraim order.
Ordered two levels for a (UK) customer only a few weeks ago. His rack was a mix of Fraim & FraimLite, so the Tinted Cherry finish allows the two variants to be mixed and matched.
All a matter of personal taste, I know, but some while back one of the forum members posted a picture where his fraim had (dark?) cherry top, bottom and middle and the 2 intermediate shelves were back. I thought that looked excellent.
I think you mean if it is exposed to sunlight, but yes, it would take ages, and the natural darkening wouldn’t be a match for the stain used for the tinted cherry.
The cherry veneer I’ve seen on Naim boxes has not darkened all that much with age, so I suspect the finish has a UV filter in it which is commonly used to reduce darkening.
