Yes! I was going to say “because it’s a computer”. It has a USB on the front and on the back for convenience, not because one is supposed to use them!

Yes, and the HDX requires an Ethernet connection in any case. Naim have never been keen to use USB on any of their devices, other than the latest streamers to a point. To be fair, they do make this clear in their documentation.
I know. I bought the HDX used as part of a package deal with their DAC. The DAC is one of the best I have ever heard. The ease of use of HDX… not so much. Deal was priced where the HDX was essentially “free”. Not the end of the world, but pretty disappointing none-the-less… at least based on Naim standard that I am used to.
