Naim iOS app - not able to 'pause' play

I’m running an NDX2 / XPS-DR / SN3 combo on FW 10.7. Up until a few days ago all was working very well on iPad via the Naim iOS app. Now suddenly the ‘pause’ feature on the iPad display does not appear, play can only be paused on the NDX2 physical button. Also the bit rate / sample freq display has disappeared on the iPad. Volume up /down buttons function ok, and the track forward and backwards buttons work fine - just can’t pause music or display SF / bitrate.
System version is 3.7.0 (5270) app version 8.0.2. Same issues on iPhone with app v 8.0.1.

Before I lodge a ticket, any clues?

I am very reluctant to update the FW on my NDX2 for reasons known all too well!

I assume that you have tried turning off the power to your NDX2 and restarting it?

As the issue affects your iPhone too, restarting the NDX2 is the main thing to try. Take the power right off, it’s not enough to just use the front panel button.

Yep that sorted it. Should have tried that before posting sorry. Thanks for the prompt - much appreciated. Case closed.

Noted that you have closed the thread but, for into, I have the identical system and have upgraded the NDX2’s firmware to the latest version, 3.11.0 (5662) and I also have the latest iOS app as you do. You probably don’t need to be anxious about updating the firmware.

My NC 300 system loses the ability to control volume and other functions if I try and lower the volume too quickly on the remote. I have to power off and back on to regain synchronisation.

Odd.

Not anxious? 2827 posts on another thread speak otherwise!

Haven’t seen it. Search as I might, I can’t find any issues with the latest firmware on my NDX2 and I am pretty good at finding issues!

I notice that there has been no update for very many months for my kit. Perhaps there has been for the New Classic series?

I’d assume, the OP is worried about impact on sound, not on functionality.

So far the firmware tracks have been „in sync“ with releases and functionality, including NC.

But they are „infrequent“, depending on new features (like Qobuz connect) or maintenance uplift of „upstream“ platforms and libraries.

(That’s 3.x for 2nd gen Uniti and Streamers, 4.x for 2nd gen Muso and 5.x for NC. They are not totally identical but seem to share the core streaming functionality/platform.

No idea about the CI track and Focal products with the “newest platform”.)
