Naim is not playing track after track from the server

Hi! A few months ago I purchased a Uniti Atom and since then I have been slowly building my audio file library. Before I had a SqueezeBox Touch, and with this streamer I stored the musics on a Synology NAS, organizing each album into individual folders. With Naim I’m following the same organizational format.

I haven’t had any major problems with this organization format (and navigation during playback), but I have found some inconsistencies in the way the Naim App displays the song list, and in particular when in some (rare) folders Naim doesn’t play each song one after the other. In other words, the Naim App recognizes and displays all the songs contained in that folder but when it finishes playing a song, it does not continue playing the next one.

I’ve done several experiments, changed file formats (flac, mp3, wave…), changed ID-Tags, but nothing solves the problem of Naim not automatically playing the next song. So far I’ve noticed that this just happens in some folders that contain songs from different albums, compiled from various sources. In other words, if all the songs come from the same album (for example, rips from a CD), this problem does not happen. However, when this problem happens, if I change the album name of all the songs using ID-Tags, this does not solve the problem.
I will show some examples.

If I have a folder where all the songs are from the same author and from the same album, the song list appears like this (the author’s name is hidden), and they are all played one after the other:

If I have a folder where all the songs are from the same album, but each song is from a different author, the list of songs appears like this (the author’s name is shown), and they are all played one after the other:

But in some cases I have folders where all the songs are from the same album, but each song is from a different author, but the App does not show the author’s name. Even so, all the songs are played one after the other:

And in the folders where the songs don’t play one after the other, the presentation of the songs comes in a different way:

Any suggestions as to what might be going wrong here? I use Plex Server on the NAS and use dBpoweramp to edit the ID-Tags.

The first thing I’d do is load Asset on your Synology. It’s more of a tried and tested server than Plex, and works seamlessly with dbpoweramp.

If this is what I think it is, then it is the same issue I first found - I.e. user error

Click on the 3 dots at the top right hand corner and select play. It should then play all in that list. Clicking play on one track will just play that one track.

Thanks for the recommendation, I didn’t know this server. I’ll try it.

In this way Naim actually plays the songs one after the other. Thank you for the suggestion! The problem is remedied but it still does not solve the base problem. Why in these cases do the songs not play sequentially like they do in most other folders, just by clicking on one track?

In short the question is: why in some folders is it enough to click on a track for all the songs in that folder to be added to the playlist, while in other folders this doesn’t happen?
