Naim Line Up - A Simple guide please

Does anyone have a summary or pictorial of the new and old classic range, in terms of what the components are and do, what can be used with what or not?

I keep finding the new 200, and 300 ranges confusing and prefer a “this unit, needs a pre or power, source and can work with and upgrade to …”

may be useful.

It would take ages to answer that fully, and most of the answer would doubtless be irrelevant. Maybe you could hone the question into something a bit more specific. Would knowing that a NAC32.5 can take the benefit of a dual rail supply whereas a 32 cannot really help?

Sorry, no. There is no such summary that I am aware of.

No Substitute For Reading The Forum.

As I say to my customers almost daily when I get an out of context question. “Slow sown. What problem are you actually trying to solve?”

The 222 is a streamer pre and can be connected to either an NC250 stereo power amp or a pair of 350 monoblock power amps.

The 332 is a preamp and can be connected to the two power amps mentioned above.

The 333 is a streamer and is normally paired with the 332.

The 222, 332 and 333 can all be upgraded by powering with an NPX300 power supply.

The NVC TT is a phono stage. This can be powered from either the 222 or 332. It can be upgraded by using an NPX TT to power it.

Above the 200 and 300 range is the 500 series.

Below is the uniti range of products that are single box systems, just add speakers. And below this is the muso range.

If you want information on discontinued ranges then, I suggest you read through the many threads on the forum about them.

Ok some more meat or essentially what i want, but a number of ?s

So after a sell up of a top end Naim fully loaded active olive setup, 10 odd year haitus, i spotted a Muso nabbed it, then Atom for a week and then the Nova which has SURPRISINGLY remained since its launch.

Maybe demos of NDX2/SN3 and beyond, not convinced VFM or worth a marginal improvement, new Classis ranges drops and i get confused as to my options.

Ahh thanks let me add to my planner, but i feel Naim should make it easier.
Most the threads on here are OTT or my way is the way.

@paulbysea thanks, so my questions are:

  1. For options 2 and 3 what are the minimum components for a functioning system
  2. Are my links correct (i.e. this needs that)

Sorry you feel that way. Perhaps Naim is not for you…?

Yeah so option 2 minimum is 222 and 250 option 3 minimum is 333 + 332 and 250

Surely the best thing to do now is find a Naim dealer who can find out what you are after and advise you?
This is what they do and are generally very good at it.

Eh after 30 years of loyal following what makes you think that ?

Could but i prefer to research, narrow down and have a plan, then demo.

Many moons ago i used Lintone and Rayleigh Audio, but they are no more and option, the current toe tapping dealers i don’t like, except to demo and buy.

I wouldn’t worry I knew nothing to start with (glad I started with an atom honestly I didn’t even understand cables when I first started looking at different hifi options :joy:). You’ll soon understand it, I still don’t know all the numbers for older pre old classic kit.

Thanks, but isn’t the 332 a streaming preamp, so why do i need the 332 ?

I still know all the Olive and last gen structure, connections, etc…

No 333 is just a streamer. 332 is just a pre amp (separating the two can help improve sound quality)

I have the older classic line because I wanted a separate streamer and pre amp but couldn’t afford the 300 series
